I am originally from a reservation located in Fallon, Nevada. However, I moved away to join the U. S. Navy. While in the military, I was a Navy Counselor, where I assisted Sailors that had PTSD symptoms and other mental issues. As a counselor, I also helped Sailors maximize their veteran's benefits, helped them attain their educational and career goals while they are serving in the military. After many years of military service, I left and pursued to work for a community college as a disability counselor. My role is to help students with disabilities and to advocate for them along with providing them with academic accommodations. My career in both military and civilian sector has always been to serve and help all individuals attain their life ambition and goals. Regardless of their physical/mental well being, socioeconomic backgrounds or cultural beliefs. I find it gratifying to help people and to see them become successful in life. This brings me to my current role as a therapist. I see the need for therapy as an important part of a person's health. Research indicates that individuals who need therapy and have experienced therapy feel satisfaction, secure and contented with life's challenges therefore helping them attain their goals.
